Scott Burroughs grew up on a small farm in Delaware. He graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Delaware and spent his 20’s living and working around the globe in places as far flung as St. Petersburg, Russia and Taipei, Taiwan. Returning to the USA, Scott earned his Masters of Architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Living and studying in Post-Katrina New Orleans imbued him with an abiding drive to leave places better than he found them.

As a registered architect, Scott has worked in Melbourne, Australia, Shanghai, China, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Austin & San Antonio, Texas. In 2023, Scott established his own firm in Asheville. This Land Studio is a small but mighty architecture practice which focuses on multifamily, hospitality, and commercial buildings. Scott also runs Better Bid Pro for smaller projects that could benefit from his keen eye and deep construction experience. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the Urban Land Institute.

Scott Lives in Asheville with his lovely wife Meagan and two boys Sylvan (6) and Rem (4). He volunteers his time as the Co Chair of the Jackson Park Neighborhood Association , a volunteer at the Asheville Botanical Gardens, member of the Asheville Tool Library, and a little league coach.
